Today I'm going to be talking
about the title, you know, maybe could rattle you just a little
bit, but it'll make sense, trust me. I've had a month to prepare
for this one. Ultimate Worship or Stoning. That's both ends of it, isn't
it? The title is Ultimate Worship or Stoning. Each of the four
gospels has a story of a woman anointing Jesus, Matthew, Mark,
Luke, and John, with expensive oil. Is that the same story? Just off the top of your head,
is it? Or do you think it is? Or each gospel's got it in it. Well, I mean, can I just be honest?
I thought they were the same story. right? Every gospel of
Jesus being anointed by a woman. Let's just real quick, well,
let's just look at it. Matthew 26, 6. Matthew 26, 6. And the Bible says, now when
Jesus was in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, they came
unto him a woman have an alabaster box of very precious ointment
and poured it on his head as he said it meet but when his
disciples saw it they had indignation saying to what purpose is this
waste this ointment might have been sold for much given to the
poor jesus understood it he said why trouble you the woman for
she hath wrought a good work upon me if you're going to have
it pour always with you but me you have not always but in that
she has poured this ointment on my body, she did it for my
burial. Verily I say unto you, whoever
this gospel, wheresoever this gospel shall be preached in the
whole world, there shall also this, that this woman hath done,
be told a memorial for her." We don't know who it is, but
we know a woman did it in Simon's leper's house in what city? Bethany. Mark 14 3 Matthew Mark
14 3 The Bible says and being in Bethany
in the house of Simon the leper Okay, that's the same story.
Would you agree? I don't need to read anymore.
You can read on down to the nine the same story. That's the exact
Bethany Simon the leper the eating alabaster box of ornament blah
blah blah poor money. All right, let's go to John 12
skip Luke right now go to John 12 1 John 12 John 12 Then six days before the Passover
came to Bethany, where Lazarus had been dead, who was raised
from the dead, they made supper. Martha served him. Lazarus was
one of them. They set the table. Then Mary
took a pound of ointment, very costly, and on the feet of Jesus,
wiped his feet with her hair. The house was filled up with
the odor of it. And they said the same story,
the exact same story here. Now, I want to suggest to you
that those three, those three situations there, here's Bethany
again, those are the exact same story. A little bit of difference
in the detail. Now, would y'all probably agree
with that? Yeah, probably should. All right,
go to Luke 7. Luke 7. And we're going to go to 36.
Luke 7, 36. Luke 7, 36. And one of the Pharisees
desired him that he would eat with him. One of the Pharisees. And he went into the Pharisee's
house and sat down to meet. This is a different story. He went into a Pharisee's house.
And behold, a woman come in, which was a sinner. Let's let's
go back one more thing too. Let's just go back if we can
go to 7 1 Luke 7 1 Here he is in Capernaum Now when
he ended all his sayings in the audience he entered into Capernaum.
He's not in Bethany now. He's in Capernaum Difference
different city different house And behold a woman in the city
which was a sinner when she knew that jesus said it meet in the
pharisee's house Brought an alabaster box of ointment And stood at
his feet behind him weeping and began to wash his feet with tears
And then wiped them with the hairs of her head and kissed
his feet and anointed them with the ointment Now when the pharisee
which had bitten him saw it he spake saying within himself saying,
this man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what
matter of woman this that toucheth him, for she is a sinner. And Jesus answered and said,
Simon, I got something to say to you. All right, we'll stop
right there. You see, this is a different
anointing. Right? This is different. This
anointing here is entirely different. You're going to see Simon's name
mentioned down here a little bit later. We'll talk about that
in a second. Anyway, I believe that this is an entirely different
situation. You still have Simon there. Simon
is the Pharisee's name. Simon was a real popular name
back then. Two of the apostles were named
Simon. Simon would be like, what, John. today or Michael or some
other popular name, right? So don't get confused with that. Jesus comes in here. Let's just
go through it. He comes to a Pharisee's house.
This is interesting. I thought the Pharisees hated
Jesus. All of them didn't. Nicodemus didn't. Here, there
were at least some Pharisees who wanted to hear what he had
to say. They're still trying to figure
out. I mean, remember that he healed the sick, he raised the
dead, he fed the multitudes, he cast out devils. Jesus had
done all sorts of miracles. And there are still some Pharisees
who are thinking, let's have him come over to our house, come
to my house. I want to talk to him a little bit. I mean, that's
reasonable. At least have a discussion with
him. That's what I believe was happening there. That's what
I think. Still trying to get to know him. Check him out. Back then, there were roughly
6,000 Pharisees. And they despised sinners. Remember, they wrote, they believed
in the Mosaic Law, which is in the Bible, the Pentateuch, but
they also had their oral law. They made up 613 additional laws
that they went by. And I'm not trying to please,
Lord, I don't mean this to be bad on anybody, don't anybody
take it this way, but there's a religious group around this
area, and they're good people, but they do the same kind of
thing. They have 1,200 laws written in the books. They make decisions
that some of y'all know I'm talking about. They make, they have a
conference every year and they meet different places and they
address issues like, can we have internet? What color can our
car be? And so that's part, that's almost
the same thing. And so if you, like people challenge,
like, can I wear shorts? You know, do I have to wear whatever?
How I dress? And so this is a pretty common
thing. And so when you start doing that,
you start thinking, I'm better than everybody else. I don't
have a radio, I don't do this, I don't do that, I wear this,
I wear that. And so the Pharisees, they thought they were righteous. Don't y'all, y'all do know that,
right? They thought they were super special and it all going
on. They didn't really believe that
he was God. Jesus was God because why is he hanging out with the
sinners? Why is he eating with the sinners? God wouldn't do
that because they wouldn't do it. He should know better than that.
He shouldn't get all jacked up doing those kind of things. When
they came to eat, they didn't have chairs. They sort of recline, lay down
on the left side normally. They take the shoes off, the
sandals off, and they sort of lay around the table. You know,
it's raised up a little bit. If y'all seen pictures of it,
they're just sort of reclining and they take their food and
eat it with their hands and stuff like that. The last time, I forgot,
I went to, a long time ago when I sold real estate, I went to
a house in some, like in Southwest Virginia, and they made me food,
and they brought it all out, and there was no utensils. And
you had to sop it up with like like a little pita bread And
I was thinking where's my fork, you know, and we're we're sitting
in the floor. I mean we're sitting like In the floor Of course,
I got to do that because i'm trying to sell the property I
got to get the sign to come And so you just you sopped everything
up like yellow stuff different things and so that's I'm mad
that's how it was And so jesus laying down on the side. They're
all around the table now You remember in the Bible when that
young boy, when Paul was preaching and he fell out of the window
and died? Do you remember when they came
through the store, when the house was so full of people that they
brought that man in a wheelchair and broke open the roof to drop
him down to Jesus? See, remember, they didn't have
internet. They didn't have TV. They didn't have telephone. That's the only way they could,
they had to get together to learn what's going on. Remember, think
about it, if you had no TV, no telephone, no cell phone, no
internet, I mean, how, you'd probably, any time the church
was open, you'd probably, because you could talk to somebody, other
believers. And so, this is like what they
sort of did back then, when they knew somebody was coming over,
everybody would come to hear. And if you could just get to
the window to listen, what are they talking about? What's going
on in there? And see, the Pharisees liked
that because they get to show off now how smart they are. They knew the law. You follow
me? They loved it. They loved all
the people hanging around. They could spout off. Look how
intelligent I am. So that's how they did it. They
all got together. You follow me? All right. So
that's what's happening. She heard about it. Obviously,
she heard about it. She comes over. Crowds show up. They're eating. And behold, verse
37. And behold, a woman in the city,
which was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus said it, meet
at the Pharisee's house. She brings an alabaster box of
ointment. Alabast is what they kept their
perfume in. I didn't know if y'all knew this
or not, but it was typical for the Jewish ladies to wear with
like a little alabast, like a little, what do you call them things?
Yeah, something. Well, like a little vial. They
put the perfume in it and hang it around their neck. They could
wear that on Sunday too. But I'm not talking about that.
I'm just talking about the perfume side. It was a big thing back then, okay?
You ain't got, you got one on? Oh, oh. And so what they would do is
put it and then it normally would be a vial and it was sealed with
wax and you'd break the top off and use it. That's sort of how
it happened. Okay. We're good so far. It was a custom. Even on the Sabbath they could
do that. 738. And stood at his feet behind him weeping and began
to wash his feet with tears and then wiped him with the hairs
of her head and kissed his feet and anointed them with the ointment. I always wonder why she's standing
at his feet. That's stupid. I mean, this is
my mind. Jesus is standing there talking.
She's standing at his feet. What is she writing? Is it his
face? No. He's laying down. And so she
comes up. No, I ain't gonna do that. Anyway,
so he's laying like right here at the altar. And so she comes
up and stands at his feet. She's standing. That's what's
happening. That's as close as she can get. She starts crying. She starts,
she takes her hair down, which is, that's like a sign of a prostitute
over there. If you walk with long hair down,
that was a sign that men knew you were, that's what you did. She takes her hair down. She's
sobbing. She's wiping and she's in tears.
She's kissing his nasty feet. You'll find out later. This is
what really just... Nobody says a word. Nobody says, look! Just imagine that happening.
Go there with me. Imagine you being there and seeing
that. You're all hanging out, eating. Here comes this woman,
stands behind. Comes up there. She wasn't invited. She comes
to his feet, stands there. And then she falls down, starts
crying. Tears on his feet. Taking her hair and wiping his
dirty feet. Kissing his feet. Then pours
in the beautiful oil on it. Nobody says a word. She didn't
do that in 15 seconds. That had to go on for minutes,
don't you think? Talk about awkward. Assuming she's a prostitute,
he doesn't say, just, I'm God, I'm just getting... She used the exact tool she used
to prostitute, if she was one, she used those to worship Jesus. She's kissing his feet. She's
rubbing in physical contact. She's unloosed her hair, wiping
his hair. All those things that a prostitute
would use in her profession, she's using those to worship
Jesus Christ. The exact same thing she would
do when she was sinning. Nobody says a word. Think how humiliated she must
have felt. Think how much shame she must
have felt. To do that, she recognized her sin. I'm going to go to John
8. Save my place right there. John
8. where the woman's called an adult.
Okay, John 8, 3. John 8, 3. You'll learn something
right here that I never saw. I promise you this will be worth
what you paid for interest today. And the scribes and Pharisees
brought unto him a woman, taking adultery. And when they set her
in the midst, they said to him, Master, this woman was taken
in the very act of adultery. Now Moses and the law commanded
us that she should be stoned. What do you say? There was a
law to be stoned. If you commit adultery, you were
stoned, man and woman. That stopped some adultery, wasn't
it? So when they continued asking
him, he lifted up himself and said to them, I'm sorry, verse
six, verse six, this they said, tempting him that they might
have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down and with
his finger wrote on the ground as though he heard them not.
And they continued to harass him. He stood up and said, he
that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at
her. And he stooped down again and
wrote on the sand, wrote on the ground. When they heard it, they
all got up, oldest to youngest, they just walked away and left
Jesus and the woman. And he said, where are your accusers?
Nobody's accused you. Did you notice that Jesus never
said, you're not going to stone her? Because if he had said that,
he'd have been going against the law. He said, without sin, you throw
the first one. I had never seen that. Because
if he said, he couldn't say to stone her. He didn't say stone. He couldn't
say not to. Because if he'd have said anything different, he'd
have broken the law. Leviticus 20.10 Leviticus 20.10 Leviticus 20.10 says, And the
man that committeth adultery with another man's wife, even
he that committeth adultery with his neighbor's wife, the adulterer
and the adulteress shall surely be put to death. What some people
say, I like it because it's a good story. They say he was right
down Leviticus 20 10 in the sand. I like this story. I don't know.
Because see, where was the dude? Where was the guy? And so they're
all standing there. So he write down Leviticus. I'm
just making this up. It's not in the Bible. But he
could have just written down Leviticus 20 10. And they all read that and go,
because they knew the law. I think I'll drop my rock. But
he never conflicted the law. Never. All right. So she was supposed to be stoned. What was she still doing there? because you come to the next
one. Verse 39, Now when the Pharisee which had bidden him saw him,
he spake within himself, saying, This man, talking about Jesus,
if he were a prophet, he would have known who and what manner
a woman this is that touches him, for she is a sinner. Obviously,
Simon the Pharisee knew something about her. How did he know anything about
her? Why didn't anybody else say something
about her? Or think it? Could it be they
all had known her? Could be. We've all known this. I slept with her. I ain't gonna
say anything. They're gonna stone me. You understand? Then he would be ready to lose
his life. It could be that they were just
good and they were sort of forgiving and didn't want to do it. Could
she have been sleeping with all the guys in there? Don't know. We have no idea. But Simon knew
she was a sinner. He knew it. So he thinks in his
heart, this is so good. And Jesus answered and said to
him, Simon, I have something to say unto thee. He said, Master,
say on. Jesus, Simon said, he ain't a prophet,
he doesn't know who she is. He turns right around, he says,
Simon, I say to thee, this is one other reason that King James
is the word of God, thee means you. He turns. Anyway, he turns to Simon. He
says, Simon, I got something to say to you. If I'm Simon,
I'm going, oh, what? Because see, Simon knew what
he was thinking, and God came right to him. Everybody there,
Simon, I got something to say to you. Master, say on. There was a certain creditor
which had two debtors, one owed 500 pence, the other one owed
50. Verse 42, and when he had nothing
to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell me therefore, which
of them will love him the most? Simon answered and said, I suppose
it he to whom he forgave most. And Jesus said to him, thou hast
rightly judged. Remember back then you couldn't
take bankruptcy. If you owed, couldn't pay, you
wouldn't. One owed $50. I've read, it looks
like it might be a couple of months wages, and then the other
one's about 20 months wages. And so just for our simple purposes,
let's just say one guy owed $8,000 and the other guy owed $80,000.
Just for simple, just, you know, you can fill in the blank how
you want to. This guy owed $8,000, this guy owed $80,000. And the
guy forgave them both. Which do you think will love
him more? Probably the one that got forgiven 80. Probably. Had to be because Jesus said,
you have rightly judged. And he turned to the woman. He's
looking at Simon. Asking these questions, you've
rightly judged. Then he turns to the woman. and said to Simon, see this woman,
I entered into thine house and thou gave me no water for my
feet, but she has washed my feet with tears and wiped them with
the hairs of her head. You gave me no kiss, but this
woman since the time I came in has not ceased to kiss my feet. My head with oil thou did not
anoint, but this woman hath anointed my feet with ointment. Wherefore
I say unto thee, these who? Simon, I'm saying to you, Simon,
her sins, which are many, are forgiven. For she loveth much,
but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little. And he
said to her, thy sins are forgiven. Every one of us, every human
being has a debt to God we can't pay. Every one of you and me,
we have a debt that we cannot pay to God. No way to pay it. Some of us got a bigger debt
than others. I thank God that Jesus came and
paid my debt. I thank God that I have faith
to trust in what He did and know His blood has paid and forgiven
all of my sin. There are people that don't understand
that. They're going to have a chance
to pay for this sin for eternity. They will never die. They will
suffer, cry, wail, weep, teeth gnashing. They'll be with the
devil, right there with him. They'll be in the lake of fire
forever. Their body will never die. Oh, I believe it. Once we're down there so long,
we'll just be annihilated. We'll just be burned up. No,
you won't. The Bible says you won't. All these people, you
believe all these different things we try to minimize. what the
Bible says, you can't do that. It's not about how much you sin.
Some of us, you know how we do. You compare yourself to everybody
else. Well, I ain't as bad as he is. I ain't as bad as she
is. Why don't you do this? I ain't
perfect, but I'm a whole lot better than they are. And y'all
know you think that. Everybody's thought that. You
compare, horizontally. Well, I didn't do that. Oh no,
but look what you forgot to do. Oh no, you didn't do anything,
but look what you didn't do. You didn't wash his feet. You
didn't kiss him. You didn't anoint him. I didn't do anything bad. No,
but look what you didn't do. The sins of omission, not commission. Well, I just thought it. We get so confused in our sin
life, what we're doing. I want to tell you this. The
more you recognize your sin, the more you will worship God. The more you recognize your sin
and how you have been forgiven, the more you will worship God.
She never said a word. She never sang a song. She never
stood up and jumped and down. She never clapped her hands.
She never said hallelujah. She never said glory. She never
said a word the whole time. Jesus said, your sins are forgiven.
We're gonna read, and your faith has saved you. Go in peace. That was the ultimate worship. You'll never see it better than
that. Regardless of who's in the room,
regardless of what's going on, the closer you get to Jesus,
the more you're going to see how bad you really are. But my
point is, you've been forgiven, if you believe. Don't forget
that. But you've got to realize, man, I'm wicked. In the beginning of Paul's ministry,
he said, I am the least of all the apostles. I'm least of all
12 of them. Then a little while later, in
the middle of the ministry, what does he say? I'm the least of all the saints. Paul says, I'm the least of all
believers. And then at the end of his ministry,
he says, I am the chief of all sinners. That's Apostle Paul. I ain't nowhere, I'm the worst,
I'm no good, I'm worse than 12 apostles. Then as he lives longer,
I'm the worst of all believers. Apostle Paul! And at the end,
he says, I'm the chief of all sinners. Paul got worse and worse. He recognized his sin as he matured. Most of us will think, and I
used to think, as I matured, I became less aware of my sin
because I've been forgiven. Everything is good. I'm not sinning
like I was before. I quit this, I quit that. That's
exactly opposite. The closer you get to God, the
more you're going to realize who you really are. You don't
think you'd feel different if he stepped right here today?
You'd pass out. We probably all thought we'd
pass out. I think. I ain't gonna be hugging him.
First, I'm gonna go, oh my, oh my, you pay for my sin. We got this thing all wrong. The closer you get to Jesus,
the more you'll recognize your sin, the more than you will recognize
your forgiveness, the greater than you will worship Him, and
the greater than you worship Him, the more you will love Him,
the more you love Him, the more you will see how He's forgiven
your sin. It's a circle, and a circle, and a circle. Do you
see that? I think it's one reason why lots
of people don't go to church. They don't get reminded of how
bad I am. I get reminded of my sin. I'm
doing pretty good. I'm a pretty good, I've been
forgiven. But we're talking about, we've been talking about worship. When you stand there or sit there
as we sing a song or wherever it is, and when you become really
aware of how much he has forgiven you, oh, worship will come up.
Oh, glory to God! Thank you, Jesus. I'm a pretty good fella. I think it's pretty interesting,
743, you see where he says, Simon says, I suppose, I think Simon
knew right then he was getting tricked. I suppose the one that you forgave
them, I suppose he did. I think that's what keeps people from hanging out with other Christians
and from coming to church and try to do things on their own. Jesus said, Simon, see her? See her? I'll suggest this. When he turned to Simon, you
see her, I came in, in verse 44, you didn't wash my feet off,
she washed my feet with her tears. How many tears does it take to
wash a foot? I mean, she was sobbing. Wiped him with the hairs of her
head. You didn't give me a kiss, but she hadn't stopped kissing
my feet since I came in. anointing my head with oil?" You didn't do any of that. And
he said, thy sins are forgiven. I believe he suddenly just told
Simon, and yours aren't. You see her? Look what she did
to me. I come in and you didn't do any
of this. See what she did? Her sins are forgiven. My mind
goes right to, and yours aren't. You neglected me. You ever neglected? I got plenty of neglect, so don't
think I'm bashing you guys. We don't read a word enough,
we don't pray enough. I have to come to church because
this is my job. But you know, I think about these other situations. We neglect Him, and I think it's
because we really don't want to be even reminded of what He
forgave us of. This morning, last several weeks,
I wake up just thinking about, I'm not dwelling on it, but I
think about what I've been forgiven for. Oh my, you don't see the
list. You wouldn't even come to church
if you saw my list. You wouldn't even think I'm saved. But I am. By God's grace and my faith in
what He did for me. You ever sometimes think your
sins aren't forgiven? See, honestly, nobody can see
us. I mean, who in here sometimes wonders, are all my sins really
forgiven? But you know they are. I just
said, do you wonder? Only about half, the rest of
y'all don't wonder? You're just afraid to raise your hand. Don't you ever think there's
some sins in your life that I'm not sure... I'm not sure he forgave that
one. Your sins are forgiven. All right, let's go to 48. He said thy sins are forgiven. and they sat at meat with him
began to say within themselves here they go thinking again that
this is all of them this is they this ain't sat as a day who is
this that forgiveth sins say it also who is this if we
give sins also were they talking about He just healed a centurion servant
right here. Right before, right? Raised the dead right before
this. This guy, we know he heals. We
know he deaf-walked. We know blind people see. We
know he cast out demons. We know he feeds multitudes. But he forgives sins also? They
acknowledge what he did, but he forgives sins also? Who is
this? Oh, they know who he was. And he said to the woman, Thy
faith has saved thee. Go in peace. Thy faith has saved
thee. Thy faith has saved thee. It wasn't her worship that saved
her. It wasn't her crying that saved her. It wasn't her washing
his feet that saved her. It was her faith that saved her. The same thing that saves you
is your faith in what Jesus Christ did for you. It wasn't her devotion
that saved her. It was her faith. Guess what
else did happen right here? Was she saved? What does the
Bible say? Talk to me. Does the Bible say
she was saved? Jesus Christ said your faith
has saved you. What did she not do? Come on, y'all are smarter than
this. When I say it, you go, oh yeah, I knew that. Oh no, she did. But she never
said a word. He read her heart. So can you be forgiven and I
ask for it, verbally? Well, sure you can. She wasn't
baptized in water. Mess up your theology on that
one. She loved much because she recognized
her sin. She was very much aware of her
sin. She knew Jesus was the Son of
God. That's why she came. She knew he could forgive. God
in the flesh. It just still, I can't, I can't
get past it. She never said a word. She never
said, please. She said, please forgive me.
She never said, I love you. She never said, thank you, Jesus,
according to my Bible. She was forgiven and saved without
saying a word according to the Bible. We can't limit how God
does things. You think he read her mind? Absolutely. The closer you get to Jesus,
the more you are aware of your sin, the more you're aware of
your sin, the more you're aware of how much you've been forgiven,
then once you realize that, then you will be more aware to worship,
and then your love will grow stronger, and then you realize
how much you've been forgiven for. You see the circle? It's just a huge circle. never-ending
circle. Remember last week when Pastor
Allen said this guy's other church, they told the people they never
sinned? I mean, that goes against the Word
of God. You remember, remember he was
talking about that worship leader who talked about today's songs
are all written Christian songs are written to make you feel
good about your relationship with Jesus Christ. Most all of
it made you feel good about you and God. I want to suggest to
you that will destroy your relationship with Jesus Christ. We're good. Me and God, we're
good. It will not help your relationship.
Okay, do y'all think I've ever made anybody mad here before?
That was too quick, Allison. I didn't get my sentence finished.
Does anybody think I make somebody mad on purpose? Okay, all right,
all right. When me and you are good, me
and you are good. But when I think something's
happened between us, I'm going to try to develop that relationship
to fix it. Right? I mean, if we're good,
it's all for everybody. Yeah, whatever. But if I think
something, if my relationship with you is not where it should
be, I sense something wrong, I want to work on developing
that relationship to try to repair it. Sometimes I can, sometimes
I can't, but I want to try. You get to the point you think
you and God, you know, you're in a circle, you got it all going
on, you're in a dangerous place. You know you've been forgiven,
you know that. You know you're born again if
you have faith, you know those things. If you forget what you've
been forgiven for, You don't work on the relationship
anymore. I don't really have to read my
Bible that much anymore. I don't really have to go to
church anymore. I don't have to go to fellowship anymore.
I don't have to do this. All these things you don't have
to do because you're good. Me and God are good. And the reality is you are destroying
your relationship and you don't even know it. The enemy snuck
in and got you all twisted up. You're not even aware of it.
And your closeness is just drifting. You're just drifting away. Slowly
drifting away from the Lord. Until finally you hit a really
big bump. And you wake up. And you've drifted
so far out in the sea, your feet don't touch the bottom anymore.
Then you get terrified. Oh! It's over my head! Sharks!
Then you swim as fast as you can to get back to where you
stand up again. That's my analogy. You didn't have to drift out
there, but you chose it. Drift away. I want to be close. You know, healing is great. There
are several people in here that are fighting issues, looking
for healing in their body, and we pray for that. We pray for
that. We'll never not pray for that. Some have been healed. Now I want to say this where
you understand it and not make anybody mad or offend. Your healing is just going to
be temporary. You're still going to die. I'd be much more concerned about
my eternal healing than I would my healing here on earth. We pray for all of you that are
sick and dealing with whatever, we pray for your healing. That'd
be part of what we're praying about. We're never going to stop
that. But God, the one thing God said He desired, 1 Timothy
2,4, He desires all men to be saved and come to the knowledge
of the truth. He never said he desired all
men to be healed, that's just the Word of God. But he said
he desired all to be saved. You might be looking, I don't
know about all y'all's business, but you might be looking at this,
that, and the other. Well, there's one thing, you better get straight.
Before you take your last breath, you better know that you have
eternal life. You better have put your faith
in what Jesus Christ did on the cross for you. He gave His life
for you. He was crucified, dead, buried,
and rose again. And by His faith and God's grace,
you were born again. You become a new creature in
Christ. Your eternal destiny is sealed. It can never be broken. You can't give it back. You can't
change your mind because you become a new creature in Christ.
Will you still sin? Yes, you'll still sin, but your
body's not gonna go to heaven. Your body's gonna stay in the
ground or be burned up or whatever. It's your spirit, man, that's
gonna go and be in heavenly places. Don't let, don't allow the enemy
to deceive you into thinking, I'm a pretty good person. I'm
not talking about your forgiveness. You've been forgiven if you trust
in what he did. You've been forgiven. I'm talking
about your relationship. I'm pretty good. We're good.
I ain't got to do that. I ain't got to give to the church. I ain't got to do anything. I'll be a lone wolf Christian.
That's not how you were designed. Father, we thank You for Your
Word today. It's absolutely true. I pray, Lord, that if I made
a mistake somewhere there, that You could fix it in the people's
hearts. I pray that we all come to a
greater knowledge of the truth. And I pray that we make the right
choice. Jesus Christ, You provided that. You provided with us a
way to achieve and attain eternal life, and I pray that every person
who hears this message will make the right decision. And they
will choose you. In Jesus' name I pray. Everybody
agree and say, Amen. Amen. Glory to God.
