Hostile!
Series Hosea
As we enter the half way point in the Book of Hosea, we have seen what appears to be a hodge-podge of judgments upon an unfaithful land, and an unfaithful people. In spite of God’s continued kindness toward them, they became more and more hostile toward Him!
They had a misguided view of God’s love and grace toward them.
The central theme is that Israel would not, or could not, satisfy Yahweh through its religious sacerdotalism – the belief that there had to be a human mediator (priesthood) between God and man.
The ultimate answer was, and still is, FAITH in God! Instead of requiring man to go to a priest, God would, instead, send His Son, God in the Flesh, to man!
In a world growing more hostile to God, and with Christians too becoming more hostile toward Him, do we get angry when we are confronted by God’s Truth?
