Case studies… from the Older Testament.

Case studies are things
we study. Circumstances that surround an event, we study them so that we can be wiser and be warned
of what takes place when we don't trust and therefore follow. 1 Corinthians 10 we have five case studies and we're told why they are given. They were written for our admonition and learning upon whom the ends of the ages have come. We're in that. We've been in the end of the ages for 2,000 years now.

The things that were written, in Older Testament times, were written for our insight — for our learning, that through the faithfulness of God's favor, throughout history, throughout the Word, again and again, we see His faithfulness, in spite of His people, established over and over.

Jonah… the message of Jonah is more for us than Jonah.

God's Presence is Inescapable…
God's Purpose is Unavoidable…
God's Priority is Unquestionable…
God's Preparation is Undeniable…

Jonah will continue to reap the ugliness of running without running. When we pick up and run the opposite way it's merely a revelation we started running long before we ran. That's the downside of being upside down with God... deception is so clever to conceal its deception. Jonah's running was an exposing that he had been running therefore it was too easy to go his way rather than God's. We want to be a lover of His presence over a lover of our pleasures. Jonah misplaced his priority and neglected His presence… and his compassion for those without a shepherd got lost in the uselessness, lifelessness, and
