Confirmed in Faith For Mission

60

The city of Ephesus during Paul's day was the fourth largest city in the Roman Empire with hundreds of thousands of residents. It contained one of the seven wonders of the ancient world in temple of Diana whose worship commanded the religious devotion of the city's inhabitants. Paul's mission to Ephesus would be a difficult one especially without a team of helpers. In the Lord's providence twelve disciples who knew only John's baptism crossed his path and Paul spent time ministering to their spiritual needs in order that he might confirm them in faith for mission. This message explores the introductory stages of Paul's mission in Ephesus and draws out its implications for contemporary mission to cities in our day.
