God Sends Joseph Ahead, pt 2

What Joseph's brothers intended for evil toward Joseph, God intended as good toward them, and not only them but for the world, the saving of many lives. God, in His providential wisdom, turned evil against itself to accomplish a far greater good.

Jacob, probably believing that the promise of God, given through Joseph's dreams, was dead and gone. And yet, God was going to bring about the manifestation of the future He had revealed for Jacob and his family through the very person Joseph believed to be dead.

Tucked into the middle of this redemption story is the story of Judah's broken promises, and confession of his sin against Tamar, his daughter-in-law. Here we see the beginning of the change in his heart. As we continue in this telling of the salvation of the Jewish people through Joseph, we will see many wondrous ways in which the power and providence (purposeful sovereignty) of God is manifested in time-space history.
