God and Wrath Satisfied

Sermon Point: God's covenant wrath will be satisfied; trust Christ.

1. After the stunning victory at Jericho, Israel suffers defeat at Ai; Joshua's confidence is shaken (Joshua 7:2-5 and 6-9).
2. God reveals covenant betrayal; Joshua must consecrate the people (Joshua 7:10-12 and 13).
3. God will expose the covenant betrayer; be sure you know your sins will find you out (Joshua 7:14-15).
4. God does expose the covenant betrayer; Achan acknowledges his common covetousness (Joshua 7:16-21).
5. Joshua confirms the capital crime against God and his people; Achan and his family perish (Joshua 7:22-25).
