The unjust Judge (2)
Series Persevering in Prayer
In this parable the Lord would teach us the importance and urgent need of the believer persevering in prayer. The widow, though poor and helpless, persevered in seeking the unjust judge to avenge her. Her poor state and condition did not deter her from continually seeking his help.
Like this poor widow woman, the believer is of himself poor and needy, yet, grace imparted instructs the true believer in his weakness and helplessness to seek God's mercy and grace.
Too often the believer leaves off prayer too quickly, and sees no need to persevere further in prayer. Yet God would often have the believer "wrestle or struggle" with Him inprayer. Long, diligent and determined prayer strengthens the believers faith in God's grace and mercy, while revealing to him the power of effectual prayer.
