A Paradigm of Covenant Gospel Life
Series Series in Nehemiah (2010-2011)
Aim: To recognize that churchmen go through an array of experiences in their walk with Christ.
Doctrine: Christian living calls the church to various mindsets and actions. Some of these are ''unpleasant,'' while other parts are glorious.
Exegesis: How the church transitions from gospel humiliation to exaltation: we start with faith-inspired repentance (vv. 1-3); we progress to faith-encouraged praise (vv. 4-6); we end with faith-blessed communion (vv. 7-8).
Further application: Why the church's grasp of covenant gospel life is important: because it helps us understand our own spiritual situations, even as we encourage others in their walk with God.
Key verse: v. 7 ''You are the LORD God, who chose Abram, and brought him out of Ur of the Chaldeans, and gave him the name Abraham...''
