The Second Commandment

Sometimes the 2nd commandment is confused with the 1st. We believe it is very distinct. The 1st says that we must not have any other god. We must not trust in any other. The 2nd discusses how we must worship the one, true God. We must worship Him in spirit and in Truth. God is a jealous God and will not have us compromise His virtues in worship. The 2nd commandment has to do with God's revelation of Himself. This revelation is always through His Word. It is important for us to understand these differences between the 1st and 2nd commandments so that we do not violate God's character.
