Is Seeing Believing?

7

'I have to see it to believe it!' How many times have we uttered those words when hearing of something incredible. Those were the sentiments of those who witness Jesus feeding the multitudes with five loaves and two fish. When confronted with the evidence of Jesus as the Messiah, Son of God, the crowd wanted to see more! Grander miracles! Daily feedings on a large scale. But unbelief is never satisfied no matter how much evidence is given. Jesus uses the miracle of the feeding of the five thousand to introduce Himself as the 'Bread of Life' that has come down from heaven, not to do His own will, but the will of His Father. And the will of the Father is that He will not lose one of those the Father gives to Him, and that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him will have everlasting life. They will experience the true Bread of Heaven who will satisfy the spiritual hunger in their souls. Jesus is the Bread of Life!
