Jacob, Thou Art Mine

If you don't want to hear about God's election and effectual salvation, don't read this passage. God's sovereignty in salvation by His Son courses the verses. These are encouraging words after reading of national Israel being unresponsive (Isa 42:24-25). In verse 4, God describes His people as "precious, honorable and loved". What sweet and uplifting words. He closed the passage, asking, "I work, and who shall let (hinder) it?" No one!
