The World's Operation Smashed

82

Once the Savior interposed Himself between His loved ones and the operation of the world in judgment for sin at Calvary, and having laid down His life and been obedient unto death, the way the world works no longer had any power over Him whatsoever.

Death, the very last cruelty that the world's natural and moral operation can inflict upon a person, was utterly broken by Jesus when He rose from the grave! He forever conquered death and threw off the way the world works.

His glorified body was no longer a natural, earthy body, but a spiritual body. It was no longer subordinate to the physical world, but rather overruled it at will.

Thus, the glorified Christ walked, ate, talked, and sympathized with His people. He had physical flesh and bones which could be felt and handled.

Yet, He bore the mortal wounds of Calvary which had no effect upon Him anymore! He appeared and disappeared at will - walls, doors and great distances did not bind His glorified body. That body is physical, yet not bound in any way by the old operation of the world!

Scripture tells us that one day Christ will overthrow the world's operation for all His people as well! He will raise us up and clothe us with immortal, spiritual bodies just like His own! We have already been redeemed from judgment and clothed with righteousness from Christ. One day soon He will redeem our physical bodies as well, and change them like unto His glorious body!

Job understood this all too well: though his flesh would decay in the ground, he knew that one day he will be clothed with a real body that can see His Redeemer here on the earth!

How unspeakably glorious Christ's rescue of us will be on that day!
