Paul's First Missionary Journey PT2_05

Paul's First Missionary Journey PT2 Acts 13:4-13 Barnabas and Saul are sent as missionaries by the Antioch church. They pass through the island of Cyprus preaching in the synagogues. At Paphos the Roman governor is converted. God validates Paul's witness when a false prophet is temporarily blinded. Hereafter Saul is called Paul, his Roman name.It was logical to go first to Cyprus, for this was the home of Barnabas Acts 4:36. Luke gives us no details of the ministry in Salamis, the great commercial center at the east end of the island. We trust that some people did believe the Gospel and that a local assembly was formed. The men then moved ninety miles to Paphos on the west end of the island, and there they met their first opposition.Judgment is a picture of the blindness and darkness of all religions, philosophies, sciences, and sorceries apart from Christ. If God is not at the center of the system of thought, the system at best is peppered with flawed teaching. As you go through the journeys of life you will need to choose a direction at the fork in the road. will you going to take the High Road or the low road.
