Welcome to the Plenteous Redemption
podcast, where the cross and the culture are on a collision
course for discussion. For the preaching of the cross
is to them that perish foolishness, but unto us which are saved it
is the power of God. For it is written, I will destroy
the wisdom of the wise and will bring to nothing the understanding
of the prudent. Where is the wise? Where is the
scribe? Where is the disputer of this
world? Hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? For
after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not
God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that
believe. For the Jews require a sign The
Greeks seek after wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified. Under the Jews, a stumbling block.
Under the Greeks, foolishness. But under them which are called
both Jews and Greeks, Christ, the power of God and the wisdom
of God. Now, here's your host, Thomas
Ervin. All right, Matthew chapter 28,
verses 1 through 10. And the end of the Sabbath, as
it began to dawn toward the first day of the week. Now, isn't that
interesting? The very first verse. The resurrection
of Jesus Christ starts with, in the end of the Sabbath. It's
over. No more Sabbath. Now, there are
a number of commandments from the Old Testament law that made
its way into New Testament Christianity, just a handful, just a few. The
Sabbath is not one of them. In fact, this is an open declaration. The Sabbath is done. It's over.
It's very interesting. In the end of the Sabbath, as
it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene. And then, you know, another interesting
point. What day of the week does the
church meet on? First day of the week. Sunday. You know, all this controversy
over changing the first day of the week to Monday and not Sunday
and all that, it's just, you can change it all you want, you
know. We worship God for now on Sunday. I guess if you make
it a different day of the week, the first day of the week, then
we'll just, maybe we'll have to move to that day. We'll take
it in stride to see how it goes. It doesn't affect us. We're still
going to worship the Lord, but they did it on the first day
of the week. Came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the
sepulcher. And behold, there was a great
earthquake, for the angel of the Lord descended from Heaven,
and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat
upon it. His countenance was like lightning,
and his raiment white as snow." That must have been a sight to
see, his countenance. How many times does the Bible
talk about, what did God say to Cain? Why is that countenance
fallen? That's the look on his face.
And the Bible is saying here, if you looked at that angel's an amazing sight to see. Verse
four, and for fear of him, the keepers did shake and become
as dead men. I would too. Even though I presume
I'd be there on positive pretense, they're there on negative pretense,
but still, if that guy showed up, I don't know what I'd do.
People are like, I wish I could talk to an angel. You don't know
that. You don't know what you're wishing for. You don't know what
you might get. Verse 5, And the angel answered and said unto
the women, Fear not, for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was
crucified. He is not here. Why would he
be there? Why would he be in a grave? For
he is risen, as he said. Remember when he told you he
was going to rise from the dead? He did it. Remember he told you
he's going to be in the grave three days, and on the third
day he's going to rise from the dead? He did exactly that. He
is not here, for he is risen, as he said, Come, see the place
where the Lord lay. Oh, he's not there. It's so funny,
you go to Israel and there's two or three tombs that they
say are the tombs where Jesus' body laid. He's not there. Now, if you go, you can't because
you're not a Muslim, but if you were to go to Mecca or Medina,
the body of Muhammad is buried there. He's physically there. Whatever's left of that pile
of dust, it's there. You will not walk into the grave
of Jesus Christ and say, we know this is his grave because here's
the physical evidence. We tested the blood, the bone.
We know that this is the grave. You don't know that. He is risen. He is not there. Come see where
the Lord lay. Where is he? He's gone. That's a blessing. Verse 7, And go quickly and tell
his disciples that he is risen from the dead, and behold, he
goeth before you into Galilee. There shall you see him, lo,
I have told you. And they departed quickly from
the sepulcher with fear and great joy. I mean, that's a, you talk
about a roller coaster ride of emotions. I don't know if I'm
scared or happy. I don't know if I'm in complete
fear or jumping for joy. Maybe a little bit of both. And
did run to bring his disciples word. Praise the Lord. So what
a great opening to this chapter after the darkness of chapter
26 and the death of Christ and all that took place in chapter
27. Now, the Sabbath is over. The Lord is risen from the dead,
and here we are talking about it. Now, it is interesting that
the woman was the first in the transgression in Genesis 3, and
yet women have been far more dedicated to God ever since.
And that's just an interesting note. You know, we joke and we
make, we poke fun at Eve doing what she did, and it was terrible
and it was horrible. But all throughout history, it's
women who are dedicated to Jesus Christ. It's rarely men, which
is sad. Men are so weak and cowardly
and distracted and unconcerned about their souls and unconcerned
about their church and unconcerned about their family. You know
what it does to you to take your family out of church? What a
foolish idea. And yet they do it. They sit
at home. They'll tell their wife, you go to church, I don't need
it. No, that's exactly what you need. The problem is you're not
coming to church. Nobody challenges your thoughts,
your ideas, your emotions, your desires with the Word of God.
You don't do it. You're not going to sit at home
and read the Bible and shake your fist at you in the mirror.
It's not going to happen. You've got plenty of criticism
for everybody else, but you're too weak and cowardly to show
up to church and sit here and let God confront you with his
word. But women will. I guarantee you behind every
strong woman you see in church is a weak man sitting out of
church. And there's a good chance that
weak man tried to take that woman out of church with him. You're
embarrassing me. You can't go without me. Well,
then get up and go. Lead. You're supposed to lead
forward, not draw back. I'm so frustrated with how distracted
and cowardly men are today. The hardest thing in the world,
and it's all over the world. It was in Uganda. If you find
a young man that you get excited about, there's a good chance
he's already ruined his life by fornicating with seven, eight,
nine, ten women, having three or four children with him, and
his life is a total mess. It's the same thing here. It's
not different. Just, you know, there's some slight alterations,
but not much. Just weakness. And I pray that
God will raise up some strong men to be a part of this church.
Now, there are, I go to, whenever we had all these opportunities
to go to churches, there are great churches. You know what
makes them great? Strong families. A man leading the home. Not some
weak, snibbling coward who's like, well, it's just too much
to come every week. Maybe just, you know, we take
a break every now and then. Well, take a break. Go do what
you want. It's a shame. Here we have women showing up
at the tomb. Where are the men, by the way?
Based on other cross-references, where were the men? Hiding in
an upper room. Hiding somewhere in fear. And
yet the women go straight to the grave, knowing the watch
is there, knowing what just took place. They go straight to Jesus
Christ. We're going to go take care of
that body. We're going to be faithful to Jesus Christ. What
a shame. Praise the Lord for godly women
who will stick with it, but my prayer is for godly men who have
a backbone and will step up and do what God wants them to do.
That sure would be a blessing. God still expects to use men,
and God requires men to take the place of leadership, but
our world is full of weak and distracted men. Look around at
any church, it's full of women. In Uganda, in America, in Europe,
the people sitting in the pews that make most things happen
are women. And it should not be that way.
There's no excuse for it. America used to, even lost men
in America used to have character, used to be strong. Now they're
drunk, they're distracted, they're cowardly, they're getting perms
and fingernails done. It's a shame. And everybody should be ashamed
of it. Everybody should be praying for the weak, cowardly men of
this country. Everybody knows what happened
last night. You know why that man got shot at? You know why
your president was almost, or one of our presidents was almost
assassinated? Because you can't have a conversation and disagree. Well, I think that's dangerous,
so I'm going to kill you. Yeah. Weak, cowardly. The moment of this earthquake
may have been about the time the Lord was bursting through
death's locked doors. Can you imagine how many people
have gone through death's doors and death was 1,000% confident? You're mine. You're staying here
with me. You belong to me now. And yet
Jesus Christ gets up and walks right out. Imagine the confusion. Wait a minute, you can't do that. Everybody's tried that, but you
can knock at that door all you want. You're not going anywhere.
And Jesus Christ walks right out the door. Praise God. This was an occasion that death
was not familiar with. Many may have come and threatened
to leave, but Christ walked out of death's doors. Now this angel
rolls the stone away, and then sits on it. Almost in a show
of defiance. Anybody want to put it back?
You got to go through me. Why don't you stick your head
inside and see where the Lord is? He is not here. He is risen. He rose from the dead. Praise
God. That resurrection guarantees
your resurrection. His not remaining in the grave
guarantees that if you've trusted in Jesus Christ, you don't remain
in the grave. I wonder, you know, those guards,
I wonder if they were talking all night, like, I mean, do you
think he's really going to rise from the dead? It is the third
night. I mean, do you think it's going
to happen? I don't think it's going to happen.
No, there's no way he's going to do that. Actually, you know, here's an angel whose
countenance is like lightning sitting on the very stone that's
supposed to be blocking the way in, and they're just struck. What do we do? It happened. Yeah, it happened. He told you
it was going to happen. How will the world respond when Christ
sits on His throne for judgment? If you can't handle the sight
of an angel sitting on a rock, how are you going to handle the
Son of God sitting on His throne, ready to judge you? That's something
that really you need to give some serious thought. Some people
can't handle being rebuked by a friend. You see an angel and
you're struck. What are you going to do when
it's Jesus Christ? When it's God himself sitting on the throne
ready to judge you? You really want to be prepared
for that day. And he tells them, this is really interesting, fear
not ye, for I know ye seek Jesus. Now if you seek Jesus Christ,
there's no reason to fear. If Jesus Christ is your savior,
you have no reason to fear death, you have no reason to fear God's
enemies, you have no reason to fear angels, you have no reason
to fear an empty grave, you have no reason to fear those things
if you're seeking Jesus Christ. If you have no interest in Jesus
Christ, you should fear exactly that. That is going to be a terrible
day for you. It is likely you will have no
reason to fear whatsoever if you trusted in Jesus. If you
reject the Lord, you should tremble. What a horrendous series of events
awaits you if you don't trust in Jesus Christ. Now here it
is, here's an angel declaring he is risen. But you seek Him,
so don't be scared. Don't worry. You're okay. You
belong to Jesus Christ. And as long as you belong to
Jesus Christ, praise God, you are okay. He has risen as He
said. Now, a lot of people claim a
lot of things throughout history. None of them have claimed that.
None of them have done that. Jesus said, I lay my life down,
and I take it up again. This death had to happen. In
order to pay for the sins of men, in order to provide salvation,
in order to demonstrate the love of God, the justice of God, the
grace of God, the righteousness of God, all those characteristics,
all those attributes that make up the person of God Himself,
this had to be done. The Bible talks about this death
as an accomplishment. It wasn't just some random act
of violence, it was an accomplishment. The Lord used these men to fulfill
this accomplishment, and now he is risen. The Lord rose from
the dead, and therefore it is expected because he rose, you
will also. That's the argument of 1 Corinthians
15. If Christ is risen, so will you. If Christ be not risen,
hold your place and look at 1 Corinthians 15 real fast. It's worth looking
at. It's a great, great argument laid out unbelievably clear.
1 Corinthians 15, look at verse... Let's look at verse 12. Now,
if Christ be preached that He rose from the dead, how say some
among you that there is no resurrection of the dead? So the foundation
of the argument is, did Christ rise from the dead? Is that what
we preached? Yes. Okay, then why are you now claiming
that you will not rise from the dead? Or your brothers and sisters
will not rise from the dead? That's the question he's about
to answer, verse 13. But if there be no resurrection
of the dead, then Christ is not risen. So the logical argument
is, if you're not gonna rise, it follows that Jesus Christ
did not rise. And if Jesus Christ rose, you
are going to rise. There's no way around it. Verse
14, And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and
your faith is also vain. Yea, and we are found false witnesses
of God, because we have testified of God, that he raised up Christ,
whom he raised not up, If so be that the dead rise not, for
if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised, verse 17,
and if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain, ye are yet
in your sins. That'd be a terrible situation
to be in. Now, did Christ rise from the
dead? According to God, He did. According to this angel, He did.
According to the word of God, He did. According to above 500
witnesses who saw Him after His death, He did. And so if you
trust that, and Christ is risen, you also will rise from the dead.
If you die before the rapture, you will be risen from the dead
and taken to be with the Lord. The dead in Christ, actually,
and that's the amazing thing, the dead in Christ shall rise
first. Why'd they get to go first? I want to go first. But the Lord said, everybody's
going. Everybody that belongs to me is going. The dead in Christ
will rise first. Well, if I die before the people
who are living, then the dead in Christ should rise first.
But, you know, if I'm still alive, well, maybe we can, you know,
make an exception. The Lord already has it all laid out, all planned
out. Nobody will be forgotten, nobody will be left behind, nobody's
gonna miss the rapture if you belong to Jesus Christ. The Lord
rose from the dead and therefore you should expect to rise from
the dead. The angel had them peek in and verify the Lord wasn't
there. And you know what he told them
to do next? Go. Go. So here we are with the problem
again with modern day Christianity. Nobody wants to go. People get
to, they reap the benefits of belonging to Jesus Christ, and
again, refuse to do anything to tell somebody else about Jesus
Christ. Somebody told you, why would you not go tell others?
Somebody cared enough about your soul to tell you about Jesus
Christ. What's wrong with you? Why would you not want to tell
other people consistently, regularly, that Christ is risen from the
dead, and you can have your sins forgiven? People get saved and
they just do nothing. I got other stuff to do. Okay. I would like you to make a list
for me of what's more important than the souls of lost men. And
then you make sure and have that list in your hand when you stand
before Jesus Christ so He can be straightened out. People are so They're just so
distracted. And the reason they're distracted
is because what distracts them is their actual desire, not Jesus
Christ. They're distracted because they
want that. They don't want to have to give
that up to serve God. When somebody comes, they say,
well, just my life is so busy. I don't have time for church
every week. I don't have time for ministries. I don't have
time for those things. Neither do I. So I have to make
the time. I have to remove things from
my life that would distract me from standing on a street corner
and holding up a sign. I have to remove things from
my life that would prevent me from being in my place every
week to make sure this church is doing what it's supposed to
be doing. Now trying to get people to do
the same is like pulling teeth without narcotics. They come kicking and screaming,
I don't want to. It's like dealing with my two-year-old
and three-year-old. Look, my advice to men, be a
man. Stop being weak. You claim to
belong to Jesus Christ, act like it. If you're not going to act
like it, then jump on a boat and go sail the seas. Live it
up. Eat, drink, and be merry. But
don't be stuck in this. Jesus Christ said, I would that
you were hot or cold. Choose one. But this lukewarm
area that you decided to live in, this unstable, double-minded,
you got one foot in and one foot out, The Lord said, I would rather
spew you out of my mouth than have you be some weak, lukewarm,
double-minded. Look, either step up, be a man,
and say, I'm just going to be cold and get out. Or step up,
be a man, and say, I'm all in. And just getting men to do that
and get women to do it. If the Lord let women preach,
I could have this church full of women by tomorrow who would
faithfully serve God. It's amazing. It's frustrating. I want to do my best for Jesus
Christ. You would think that would be
a common desire for Christians, and it's not. It absolutely isn't. In fact, they will blame God
for the reason that they can't do what God told them to do in
His Word. He gave me peace about it. I
just, you know, okay. I am praying for a generation
of faithful young men because what lies ahead in this country
is horrendous. Let's say Donald Trump does get
elected president. Let's say he is alive and makes it to the
election and even lives to serve out the four years. Because there
are obviously forces in this country that hate that man and
what he wants to do so bad, they want him dead. What do we get,
four, six years of potential reprieve economically? Socially,
maybe? Maybe? And then what comes next? Look, evil men and seducers wax
worse and worse. And you have Christians in this
society trying to make themselves comfortable and not be too involved
in this and too involved in that unless they want to be. Oh, if
it's football, if it's something other than church, well, you
know, I just, I've committed myself to that. What about your
commitment to Jesus Christ? What about walking worthy of
the vocation that you have been called to walk in? Well, I just
need to set that aside. How come every time there is
a conflict between a Christian's desires, financial interest,
and time, Jesus Christ always loses out? It's because you have
no commitment. You're weak. It is not easy. Every week, week
after week, to work full-time, try to pastor full-time, cut
the grass at the church, take care of my home, take care of
my family, and then to see the constant running problems that
people in our church have that I want to be there to help them
with and I can't. It's frustrating. And if I can't
get the church built full of men who are willing to help and
take part, Be a while before I can get to those things. Shouldn't
be that way. Especially in a place like Lousdale.
Lousdale's one of the few places my wife can go downtown and pick
something up and men will come out of the woodwork and say,
let me carry that for you. A place with good men. Good men who want
nothing to do with Jesus Christ. It's amazing to me. Here is the
risen Lord Jesus Christ. I don't know how you can read
Matthew 26, 27, 28, and not be grieved at the lack of concern
that the people around you have for Jesus Christ. What he did
for you, and you can just take it so lightly and throw it away
so easily. Cowards. No loyalty. I'm so excited to study the book
of Ruth. Ruth was such a loyal, dedicated woman and refused to
turn her back on her people and her responsibilities. And did
it with purity and virtue. This is going to be a good book
for us. Some of you need this book. Because
you've been through too much. You have too much pain. You have
too much heartache. There's too much going on in
your lives. The book of Ruth, it'll start off a little negative.
We've got to get past the negative. But it's a very encouraging book,
and you need it. The church needs it. And so I
look forward to it. This angel said, I want you to
come in here. I want you to peek your head
in here and see where he lay. Oh, he's not there. That's right. Now go. Tell everybody. Tell them He is risen from the
dead. He is not here. You've been given that same responsibility.
And then, guess what? They ran. They obeyed. And you know what happened? Jesus
met them in the way. Just something about serving
Jesus Christ. gets you closer to Jesus Christ. Something about
being faithful to Jesus Christ brings about sweet, wonderful
fellowship with the Lord. Some people can't be faithful
to God because they've never experienced that. And the sweetness
of those moments make the difficulties of serving God in this life worth
it. Not only that, but what's to
come. What will be waiting for you when you stand before him
in heaven? That's just icing on the cake. These people ran
to do what the angel said, and as a result, they meet Jesus
Christ. They run in obedience. They run in obedience. But modern
Christianity is more characterized by slackness. and it ensures
folly. It ensures a society that can't
sit down and have an honest conversation. It ensures fornication, adultery,
abortion, homosexuality. Who's supposed to provide the
counter to those things? The political structure? Or you? It's you. God said they have
not the knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame. It was your responsibility. I'm
desperately praying for people who will take up that responsibility. But till then, I will stand on
that street corner with my family and Miss Phyllis until more people
come, if that's what it takes. That's OK. Verses 11 through
15. Verse 11, now when they were going, behold, some of the watch
came into the city and showed unto the chief priests all the
things that were done. And when they were assembled
with the elders and had taken counsel, they gave large money
unto the soldiers. Large money. How much you need
to keep your mouth shut about this? It'd be a lot, we'll get
it. We'll get it. Whatever you need. saying, say ye, his disciples
came by night and stole him away while we slept. Come on, man. You're talking
to two hardened soldiers. There was a massive stone in
the way, and this is the best lie you could come up with? Just
tell people they, you know, they came, they took you out, and
then moved the stone away and stole his body. and left no evidence
of that anywhere. Amazing. That's like when I told
you about me and my brother, we're gonna run out and tell
mom that some kid rode through the backyard and threw a rock
and broke out the window. What a stupid story. And then
my sister went and told on us. She's mean. Verse 14. And if
this come to the governor's ears, we will persuade him and secure
you.' So they took the money and did as they were taught,
and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews to this day."
It's important to spread God's word because while you're outspreading
God's word, the devil and his advocates are
outspreading his word. There is competition for the
hearts of men in this world. You can't be complacent in this. It is so important to go out
and tell people about Jesus Christ. It is unbelievably important. And failure to do so on your
part ensures that they get a different narrative and they hear a watered
down version of the truth or mistruth or complete lies. Where
are they gonna get the information to counter all the things that
are being thrown at them in this life? It has to come from us.
It's so important. Others are spreading a contrary
message. And based on your dedication,
who will Lousdale get the message from first? The devil or God's
people? Be a good question, sit down
and ask yourself. Does that matter to you? I think most people will
say, well, probably the devil. Okay, what are you gonna do about
it? Me? Oh, nothing. Why not? Well, you know, I got
things to do, places to go. Okay. It's amazing to me. Christ was betrayed for money.
And then for money, this lie about Christ was spread. You
can get a lot of things done with money, even if it's completely
false, completely untrue. People will quickly abandon God
for money. and yet money is so shallow and
unfulfilling. I hope everybody in our church
gets to have more money. It'd be great. It can facilitate
an easier life. It can put a lot more things
at your fingertips. Nothing wrong with that. But
if you would give up Jesus Christ and your responsibilities to
your church, to your family, to your society, to your community
in exchange for money, you're wicked. It's dirty. and it will not pay off in the
end. You're gonna give up things that are good and wholesome and
right in exchange for filthy lucre, and you think in the end
it's gonna work out? It'll not work out. It will end
terribly. But convincing people of that
is really hard. All they see are dollar signs.
All they see is opportunity. I don't know how people can be
so cold and so hard. But they are. And they choose
that direction. And they feel justified in it.
Matthew 28, verses 16 through 20, Then the eleven disciples went
away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them.
And when they saw him, they worshipped him. That's more proof that Jesus
is God. They worshipped him, and he received
that worship. When men fell at Peter's feet,
what did he do? No, no, no, you better get up. When John fell
at an angel's feet, he said, mm-mm, get up. I am not to be
worshipped. God is to be worshipped, God
alone. And here they're falling at Jesus'
feet and worshipping him, and he said, yeah, that's right.
But some doubted, and Jesus came and spake, I mean, would you?
I just watched you die this brutal death for the sins of men, and
now you're standing in front of me. I'm a little confused
right now. I'd be like that man that said,
Lord, help thou mine unbelief, please. I don't know how this
is happening right now. It'd be wild. It's far better
to look at it from here, reading it in the Bible, than it is to
have been there. In the middle of all that confusion,
you don't want to test whether you would have been on the right
side or the wrong side of that thing. Verse 18, And Jesus came and spake
unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and
in earth. Now, is that true? Yes. But He does not take up
that power until Revelation 11. That's when the Lord takes up
that power and the kingdoms of the earth become the kingdoms
of our God and His Christ. And then He begins to exercise
that power faithfully. Now, based on this, all powers
given unto me in heaven and in earth, what do we do? Verse 19,
go ye. There it is again. Now, what
are Christians not doing? They're not going. Oh, they go
to Walmart. They go to the restaurant. They
go a lot of places, they don't go anywhere on behalf of Jesus
Christ. Every Christian who puts this
away and does nothing about it should be ashamed of themselves. Go ye therefore and teach all
nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the
Son and of the Holy Ghost, teaching them. Who's doing that? Save a few men here and there,
a few ladies, you know, in a good news club in school here and
there. Not many. Not many at all. Teaching them
to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you. And lo,
praise God, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.
Even when you reject me and don't go and do what I said, I'm still
with you. But when you get up the courage and decide to be
faithful and do what I've asked you to do, I will go with you. I will always be with you. When
I came back from Afghanistan in, I guess it was 2013, 2014,
somewhere around in there, a good friend of mine named Justin Whitlin
in our church down in Florida, He and I used to, before I went
to Afghanistan, before I left Florida to go to Afghanistan,
we would stand on a street corner together, often just the two
of us. Now, it wasn't always that way,
but for a long time, we had a large group that would come out, and
we stood out across from this bar, and we would preach until
that bar closed. And I mean, when I say closed,
they shut down. They no longer exist. Praise
the Lord. We had to find a new spot to
go to because the bar we used to preach at had to close. That
is a blessing. But I had to go to Afghanistan.
I went to Afghanistan, took that one last contract, and then praise
the Lord, it was supposed to be a year, after I believe about
seven or eight months, Obama decided he was going to shut
down the war in Afghanistan and sent everybody home. And so my
contract was cut short. So I got to go back to Florida.
I get back to Florida. I'm driving through downtown
to land one night, kind of late, maybe about 9, 10 o'clock. And
there's Brother Justin standing on the corner, singing by himself,
holding a sign, passing out tracks. God needs men who are willing
to be faithful. I couldn't wait to get back out
on that corner with him and stand with somebody who would be so
faithful by himself. We were told multiple times in
this chapter, go. Go and tell people what Christ
has done. And we can't get Christians to
lift a single finger to go do anything that would represent
service to Jesus Christ. Now they'll go out of their way
to serve themselves. It's the book of Haggai all over
again. Why is the house of God not built? Oh, it's not time.
Well, that's interesting. You built your houses. Why haven't
you built the house of God? We should be thankful we do not
live under the Old Testament law. Because if God dealt with
us the way he dealt with Israel, a lot of Christians would be
in a lot of trouble. But he's gracious. Know you not
that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance? I hope it
does. I hope it leads Christians to
repentance. And that they will take up their responsibility
and their duty to serve their God in this day and age that
is so wicked and so needful. Let's pray together. Father,
we sure love you and thank you so much for loving us. Lord,
thank you for your word. Help us, dear Lord, to be faithful,
to be responsible, to do what you would have us to do, to go
where you'd have us to go. Lord, we sure need your help.
Now, I'm afraid the comforts of American life have deceived
people into thinking that things are okay, and they're not. We are headed in a depraved,
desperate direction, and yet everybody just continues
on as though nothing is wrong. Lord, we need an awakening in
the hearts of your people. I pray, God, that you would send
it. I pray that it would be so real that it has to be acknowledged
by all. to pray for your help and your
guidance and your wisdom. Thank you for your goodness,
your love, your mercy, your grace. Thank you for your son. Lord,
help us to always have the strength to never cease to go and tell
people about Jesus Christ. In Christ's name I pray, amen. We hope you enjoyed this podcast.
