The promise through the righteousness of faith

🗡️ Sermon delivered at Pilgrim Baptist Church on Sunday, July 17, 2022 at 11:15 am. 🗡️

This expositional sermon is based on the scripture text of Romans 4:13-17.

Paul will show that God's promise of heirship is authentic & faith is God's manner of blessing.

The scripture very clearly points out that Abraham's justification came BEFORE his circumcision and before the Law was given. Therefore, his promise of heirship was given by God when he was just a man, NOT a circumcised, law-given man.

This KJV sermon further brings out that faith and law are contradictory; as well as the fact that God hates man trusting in his/her own good works. Instead, the bible says: "all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father."

How dare anyone ask God to come to Him on our terms! Our "dead works" mean nothing and are "filthy rags"!

Romans 4:15 further shows that all the law does is bring forth God's wrath. The law gives no life.

Only a believing seed is the promise of heirship extended to.

God will ultimately do a title search on each and every man. The only way you will have a clear title is if it runs back to Jesus Christ.
