Praying Like Paul

Paul’s Prayer begins with Thanking God for Evidences of His Grace (1;3-4).
Thankful...because their faith is growing (1:3a).
Thankful...because their love is increasing (1:3b).
Thankful...because of their steadfastness in the midst of difficulty (1:4).
Paul’s prayer is informed by his understanding of the Lord’s Return (1:5-10).

Paul Makes Specific Request to the Lord (1:11).
Requesting...that God would make them worthy of His calling (1:11a).
Requesting...that God would empower every resolve for good and every work of faith (1:11b).

Paul’s Purpose in Prayer (1:12a)
Purpose #1 “...that the name of Jesus might be glofied in you”.
Purpose #2 “...that you might be gloried in Him”.
