Gog and Magog

Gog and Magog appear in both Ezekiel 38-39 and in Revelation 20, but based on details in both cases, they appear to be different events. Ezekiel prophesies about a great military coalition made of up a handful of nations led by what appears to be the nation of Russia that rises up against Israel in the "latter days." The most interesting fact of this invasion is that it is God who initiates this invasion by drawing the nations out to war and the main purpose of this invasion is for God to magnify Himself and proclaim His name throughout the earth. Based on details supplied in this passage, it is also reasonable to conclude that this event will take place after the Rapture but before the Tribulation begins.
