Refuge in the Son

This Psalm is one of the clearest Psalms containing strong Messianic content. In it we see the Raging of the Peoples against Yahweh, his Response to their foolishness, the Promise of a Redeemer who is both Savior and Judge, and the Requirement of Repentance in order to find Refuge in the Son. Parts of this Psalm are quoted by NT writers in several places. There we learn, as in Acts 13:33, that a primary fulfillment of Psalm 2:7, "You are my Son, today I have begotten you," was in the resurrection of our Lord Jesus. The main idea or theme of this passage is "the necessity of adoring submission to the Son."
