Grace and Good Works
Series Heidelberg Catechism
Christ's work is sufficient, alone, to acquit us before the Father's whose righteous wrath demands eternal judgment against our sinfulness, both stain and actual, to merit for us liberty from such a judgment. Our works then never have the power to acquit us, to cause the Father to declare us righteous, but are in fact the fruit of a life in which the Triune God is a work, a mighty work, that results in new, glorifying, and God honoring thoughts, words and deeds. Our "new man" work are the proof, or fruit of a life transformed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Do you bear such fruit, are you compelled by the grace of God to serve Him with everything fiber of your being? May we by God's grace be transformed and transfixed by the marvel grace of God that frees us from sin and frees us to do what is good and pleasing to Him.
