When Grace and Wrath Intersect (Psalm 137)
Sermon Point: Remember heaven; contemplate Hell; center on Christ.
Ancient Israel experienced much sorrow and torment (Verses 1-3).
Living as aliens in a foreign land as they did raises a worship question (Verse 4).
To sing the Lord's song in a foreign land, you remember your heavenly homeland (Verses 4-6).
You also remember God's curse and the curse of Hell (Verses 7-8).
All of this leads you to Christ and the curse of the cross (Verse 9).
Conclusion: Grace and wrath intersect at the cross. Answer the question of verse 4: Remember heaven; contemplate Hell; center on Christ.
