True Satisfaction

People today are spiritually hungry, desperately seeking to find meaning and hope in life. Inside the heart of man is a 'God-shaped' vacuum which man tries to fill with pleasure, hard work, material things, relationships, education-- thinking these will provide satisfaction and fulfillment. But true satisfaction and fulfillment is found only in a relationship with God through faith in Jesus Christ. True satisfaction, however, does not come through pursuing Jesus to meet one's 'felt needs'. Jesus did not come to make us wealthy, healthy, and problem free. He came to save us from our sins. True satisfaction is also not found in pursuing material wealth. People today labor for 'food which perishes'. The problems with focusing on the material is first of all, we die; secondly, material things perish; and thirdly, pursuing wealth can lead us away from God. But true satisfaction is found in committing one's life to Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the 'bread of life'! He is the 'food which endures to everlasting life.' And the only work acceptable to God is to believe in Christ! Salvation is by God's grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone!
