The Mystery of Weakness

The truth Paul teaches in these verses is that our effectiveness for the Lord is realizing how weak we are and that we have nothing to contribute to God's Kingdom work in ourselves. It is only when we truly embrace this understanding in the depths of our being, that we are released from the bondage of the flesh whereby we are forever trying to prove ourselves and exalt ourselves. The great mystery of weakness is that when we realize how bankrupt we are, it is then that we are open to receive from the Lord and are rendered most effective by His power and enabling for His service. It is only God's power and provision that can accomplish Kingdom advancement.
