Normally, the way I look at the news, I go through my various news sources, I'll look at headlines, I'll save articles that I want to consider in the future. Recently, as I was going through some files that I had saved, I was reminded of an article from April. It was taken from the Bible Science Forum. The article was entitled, Football Fans Summon Lucifer. I've actually included a photo and a video that are related to this article in case you want to see this for yourself. Well, as you take a look at this, you'll understand the absolute evil as far as this football club in Germany. So as I was reading through this article and considering and looking at the video, I was reminded, of course, a very familiar passage related to Lucifer in Isaiah 14, verses 12 through 15. How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning? How art thou cut down to the ground which didst weaken the nations? For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven. I will exalt my throne above the stars of God. I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation in the sides of the north. I will ascend above the heights of the clouds. I will be like the Most High. Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell to the sides of the pit. Even as Satan was dealing with the Lord Jesus in his earthly ministry, Luke 4, verses five through eight says, and the devil, taking him up into a high mountain, showed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said unto him, all this power will I give thee, and the glory of them, for that is delivered unto me. And to whomsoever I will, I give it. If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan, for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. When you notice in the photo, there's a statement that was displayed by the fans. Translated into English, it says, Lead us to light the world's realm. Arise from the abyss, take our souls. I think of 2 Thessalonians 2 and the strong delusion that would come upon people in these last days. As you think about the statement that's made here, of course, this is in relation to the son of perdition that was prophesied. It says in verse 8, shall that wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming. Even him whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, and with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish." Why? Because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause, God shall send them strong delusion that they should believe a lie, that they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness." So you think about thousands of people seeing this display of worship of Lucifer, that there's a strong delusion that has come over so many people. Even as far as the worship of the devil is mentioned in relation to the beast in Revelation 13, verse four, they worshiped the dragon, which gave power unto the beast. And they worshiped the beast saying, who is like unto the beast, who is able to make war with him. And even as we consider the end of Satan, Lucifer, that was mentioned in Isaiah 14. Revelation 20 verses one through three. And I saw an angel come down from heaven having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the devil and Satan and bound him a thousand years and cast him into the bottomless pit and shut him up and set a seal upon him that he should deceive the nations no more till the thousand years should be fulfilled. And after that, he must be loosed a little season. After the thousand years, it says in verse 7, Revelation 20, and when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison and shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle, the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. And they went up on the breadth of the earth and encompassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city, and fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them. And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night forever and ever." As we consider the end of this chapter then, Revelation 20, verses 11 through 15, we see the end of all of those who have given their soul over to the devil. Again, you think of the statement, on display in this soccer stadium. Arise from the abyss and take our souls. they are going to the same place that the devil is going to someday. Verse 11, and I saw a great white throne and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away, and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God, and the books were opened, and another book was opened, which is the book of life, and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books according to their works. and the sea gave up the dead which were in it. And death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them. And they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever is not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. I think of Ahab who sold out his soul to do evil. You think about this worship of Lucifer, this increase of Satanism in our day. They're literally selling out their soul to the devil, calling for him to arise out of the abyss and to take their souls. Forever, they're gonna realize how deluded they were. They're going to experience. What Revelation 14 talks about is the description of this lake of fire. The third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image and receive his mark in his forehead or in his hand, the same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation. And he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up forever and ever. and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast in his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name." Again, we see in Revelation 13, that the dragon, the devil, Satan himself is behind the beast, this beastly system that we have in our day. May we be found faithful, proclaiming the truth of God in the midst of a world that is worshiping the devil himself.
