A Christian Response to the Salem Witch Trials

1,452

A common allegation on America's universities is that Christians killed millions of witches. The truth is however, that those numbers have long been repudiated. Historians and scholars (non-Christian and Christian alike) estimate the number to be, over a 500 year period - the 1200's to 1700's, about 40-50 thousand put to death. Compare those numbers to the Enlightenment inspired French Revolution (an event birthed in humanism, statism, socialism, feminism, sexual licentiousness – everything at war against Christ) which ended in 50,000 deaths in just two years.

This sermon gives facts and dispels myths regarding witch trials across Europe and here in America. 44 min. MercySeat.net
