Chiastic Structure of John 3

Comparing John 3: 2 and 3: 21 you notice that are some words which are repeated and some which are synonymous. Deeds and Signs are similar. Came, Come, light, night Synonymous phrases - We know and may be clearly seen. These signs that you do.... they are clearly seen. We can connect "Teacher come from God" with "The one who comes to God". These kinds of phrases show us the Chiastic Structure of the gospel of John. Repetition of phrases like theses show Chiastic Structure. The Advantages of Chiastic Structure is that it focuses in on, it points us towards the point of the text. Chiasm is taken from the Greek letter Chi from which we get Chiasm.
