If “meantime” were a verb, the hardest thing about it would be figuring out what it does.

That’s the trouble with "meantiming." There’s some clear event before it, and there's some milestone after it – but in the meantime, you are unable to throw yourself joyfully in any particular direction or effort; unable to see much point to whatever you are doing.

Joseph is one of the premier biblical examples of godly "meantiming." And from him we learn, among other things, that for those who meantime well, God promises an eventual and positive end.
