Righteous Jacob

The life of Jacob shows how easy it is for us to shape the word of God by our own perceptions and thus not hear what God has revealed. This sermon shows that if we allow Scripture to define Jacob's character, we arrive at a very different conclusion about him than we get when we follow the headings in our Bibles and our own prejudices. The life of Jacob should alert us to how important it is to self-consciously bring every thought captive to what God has revealed rather than presuming that the way we think about something is correct.
