The Angel of Light

Paul, in defending himself against the false apostles, points the Corinthians to the knowledge or truth that he had proclaimed and manifested to them. His point was that the self-attesting truth of God that came through his ministry was vastly different to the so called knowledge of his opponents. The Scriptures continue to expose the bankruptcy of those who exalt their human wisdom against God's truth, whether it's Darwin, Marx, the Mormons, JW's, etc., there is no contest between their 'knowledge' and Scripture. The sermon also deals with Paul's refusal to accept any money from the Corinthians though he accepted funds from churches in other provinces and seeks to explain why he did this and what its significance is for us today. The sermon argues that Paul's example reveals the only sure protection we have from the subtlety of the angel of light.
