God Promises a Rest for Us to Give Us Power to Persevere

The central theme of this part of the Bible is that God promises there is still a rest for His people to give us power to persevere. This text teaches us seven things about this rest:

1. God's rest is a spiritual rest in this world.
2. We must be afraid that even one of us might fail to enter God's rest.
3. We enter do enter God's rest by faith.
4. God's promise of a rest that remains is not the rest God established at creation.
5. God's promise of a rest that remains is not the rest God established for the Hebrews in the Promised Land.
6. God's promise of a rest that remains is the rest we have in the completed work of Jesus Christ in this world.
7. We must strive to enter that rest so that no one will fail to enter because of disobedience.
