Longing for my God

David was in the wilderness, seeking the God whom he had known and enjoyed in Jerusalem.

The opening verses of Psalm 63 give us an insight into the relationship that David enjoyed with God, the appetite that he had for God, and the experience that he sought of God.

In all this, he is a model for every believer's desire to know our God not just in times of easy access to the appointed public means of grace, but even—perhaps, especially—in times of deprivation and difficulty.
