A Worshipping Church No. 10 Part 1

90

Another distinctive that we wish to consider in this series is that of being a worshipping Church.

It is every true believer's delight to worship their God. We desire to do what the Psalmist here exhorts us to do, namely, to worship, to bow down, to kneel before our Maker because He is our God and we are His people.

God is worshipped on two accounts:
[1] God is to be worshiped because He is our Maker. The creature is to worship the Creator;
[2] God is to be worshipped because He is our Redeemer. The sheep are to pay homage to the Great and Good Shepherd.

Does it matter how we worship the Lord as long as we are sincere about it? Must we follow a set form or can we be contemporary and introduce cultural aspects into the worship of the Lord?

Worship must be:

  1. Scriptural
  2. Reverent
  3. Spiritual
