The Crisis of Nations

The history of nations seems often like a mere struggle in the darkness, yet it is not - it is the outworking of God's providence. The great battle of Carchemish changed the order of things in the Ancient Near East for generations, yet it was not Babylon or Egypt that decided this, but God. He brings calamity on sinful nations, but he comforts and reassures his Church that while he will make an end of all nations, he will never make an end of his Church.
