False Teachers Give False Hope

Hananiah was a seeker-friendly false prophet and Jeremiah was still preaching judgment. Jeremiah loved the people, so he kept warning them of coming judgment. He even told Hananiah that he hoped his message would come to pass, but then followed up by telling the people how to discern a false prophet. Jeremiah showed wisdom in responding to a fool.
