Secrets of the Kingdom

Having told his followers to 'let their light shine before others so that they may see their good works and give glory to God,' Jesus now warns them not to practise their righteousness in order to be seen. The glory is always to go to God, not to us. With the warning though, comes a great promise – 'your Father who sees in secret will reward you.' With such a wonderful promise, I wonder why it is we so often we find ourselves seeking the praise of men when the blessing of God our Father is far better than anything others can give us?
