Mugged By Reality

The Preacher's explorations of this life in Eccl. 1:12-2:26 bring us face to face with the reality that this world offers nothing which can ultimately satisfy us. But when we accept this limitation and receive this life as God's gift, we find deep joy in it.

1. Searching out this life by wisdom is
   chasing the wind (1:12-18)

2. Seeking gain from pleasures is
   chasing the wind (2:1-11)

3. The gain of wisdom over folly is
   chasing the wind (2:12-17)

4. The gain of work is transitory, left
   to another (2:18-23)

5. The enjoyment of this life is God's
   gift (2:24-26)
