What God Forgives, He Forgets
Series Hebrews: Christ is Greater
Frequently in worship we use Psalm 103 in worship, in particular verses 8-12 as a reading for the assurance of pardon. The assurance of pardon is part of corporate worship as God longs to declare time and again His forgiveness of our sins, through His Son. Think upon the sweetness and comfort of those words "I will remember their sins and their lawless deeds no more." The Apostle has used much ink to described the nature of Christ's redeeming work, the means by which He has redeemed sinners, and here the extent of that redeeming work from the perspective of God Himself, the Judge. Through Christ's work of reconciliation the saint enjoys complete forgiveness and a state where in God counts not a single sin against them. This truly is amazing grace!
