We Have an Alter

This verse declares only one altar exists in all the universe. Not another can be found in God's heaven or His earth. The altar of the Tabernacle, where the multitudes of animals were sacrificed, was but a passing figure. The Lord Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of that figure and He is the everlasting altar for God's elect people. He is the altar where the saving, justifying, sin-cleansing sacrifice was made. He is the priest, sacrifice and altar.
