The Universality of Sin

The shame and fear and guilt that Adam displayed after eating from the tree resonates with us. All over the world, this describes the common human condition. In all the Scriptures we only find two people who escaped death: Enoch and Elijah. Everywhere else, throughout the world and in every period of history, the common human experience is death. This sermon shows the outcome of that Fall from a state of original righteousness and communion with God. While sin and death pervade the human race, God maintains life in this world. Divine patience affords the context for mercy through Jesus Christ.
