Zechariah 10&11 (Bad Shepherds)
Series Zechariah
In Zechariah 10 and 11, God is angry with His shepherds. In chapter 10 He shows what a good shepherd can do for his church: He brings victory, unity, and He calls his sheep from all the places where they have been lost. Chapter 11 forecasts the time of the Good Shepherd's earthly ministry. He destroys 3 bad shepherds represented by the scribes, Pharisees, and Saducces and departs from them and their flock, feeding only the poor of the flock they had abused. The wages of the good shepherd are 30 pieces of silver and they mean so little to Him that he casts them into the house of the Lord to the potter. He breaks covenant with the people who despised Him and turns them over to a worthless shepherd who will be cursed.
