I've been witnessing to people for decades, and I can tell you from personal experience, it does not even occur to most people to ponder this question. Does the textual base of my translation matter? You have to understand, most people simply inherit the Bible that they use. They have inherited, perhaps, from their parents. My parents use it, so I use it. They inherited, perhaps, from their pastor. My pastor uses it. It's in the church pews, so I use it. And sadly, there are just as many who did not inherit their version from a trusted source, but who were rather manipulated into purchasing it through the disgraceful scam of modern Bible version marketeering.
