6 Contentment in Our Work

We return to Pandora's box again! Does God want us to be happy? Yes, but that happiness is to be found in Christ and Christ alone. God set us to work for this very reason, that we would find our happiness in Christ.

Many people experience burnout at work and view work as a necessary evil. God designed work for soemthing much better. He designed us to reflect His image, His glory and His gospel in how we work.

Things that breed discontentment in work:

1. The praise of men
2. The promise of earthly rewards
3. Serving self

Things that breed contentment:

1. The praise of God
2. The promise of eternal rewards
3. Serving Christ

Ultimately, we find our contentment in the work of Christ - redemption.
Christ worked the same way:

1. For the praise of God
2. For Eternal reward
3. Serving His Father
