Good morning, everyone. My name is Cyril Daniels, and this is my testimony of salvation. I grew up in a Roman Catholic family where my parents were devout Catholics, and hence I followed in that religion. I did not know at that time that I was placing my trust in an apostate religion, which did not encourage you to read the Bible and had many church traditions which we were required to follow. I believe from the doctrine preached by the church that I was sure of going to heaven without having any knowledge that to be saved one needs to come to faith in Christ by God's grace. Ephesians 2.8, for by grace I is saved through faith. Since I lived as a carnal man, there was no feeling of guilt of sin. Romans 3.23, for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Or realizing the condemnation I was under because I lived in a false security that my upbringing in the Catholic church church would save me, and hence there was no need to worry how I lived. Romans 6.23, for the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life. My younger brother was born again and he was in contact with me to change, but I paid no attention to him. My wife was an Anglican and had no desire to follow the Catholic doctrine. We migrated to Australia with two children. Though the children were baptized in the Catholic faith, they preferred to follow in the footsteps of their mother, and I allowed them to do so. As a result, we ended up going to different churches. In spite of attending church services quite regularly alone, as my family were not keen to follow me, I felt an emptiness in my spiritual life. When I retired, my wife suggested I start reading the Bible. I decided to do so, and it took me over a year to complete reading it. There were several things I did not understand, so a month later, I started reading again and listened to several YouTube preachers, and my understanding grew better. Romans 10, 17, so then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. We then, as a family, attended a couple of other churches, but were not regular in attendance. In late 22, we started attending church on a regular basis as a family and also read the Bible daily. However, there seemed to be something that troubled me while I was in the church we chose to attend, and I was eager to leave. One day after Sunday's service, my younger daughter found a flyer lying on the footpath, so she picked it up and brought it home. I read it, and it was from NBC inviting people to attend a conference with Evangelist Barry Webb as a speaker. When the time came, I decided to attend. The first day I attended alone and liked the service. I asked my family to attend, which they did for a couple of days, and liked it as well. I attended the full conference and also the Sunday service. Even though I liked it, there seemed some doubt in my mind whether this was the right church for us as a family. The reason being that I was deceived for over 60 years by the doctrine of the Catholic faith, and then being deceived by a false doctrine of Calvinism. I needed to be absolutely sure that I would not be deceived again by joining NBC. I decided to listen to several sermons preached by Pastor Simeon and read the history of the church and various other church doctrines and procedures, and was convinced that this church was sound in doctrine, good discipline, preached the full counsel of God, good fellowship among believers, and God-fearing people all under a strict disciplinarian pastor. I spoke to my family, who were a bit reluctant to leave the church they were attending. I decided to start attending NBC on my own, and six weeks later my family joined me. During the time I attended by myself, I had a chance to talk to Pastor Simeon, and he asked me whether I was born again. I said I was not sure. Anyway, Pastor Simeon most graciously took me through portions of scripture and asked me some questions. From my response, he believed that I may have been born again. He gave me a few tracts and asked me to read them, pray, and open my heart to receive Jesus. In the few weeks that followed, I did personally receive Jesus in my heart by calling upon the name of the Lord. Romans 10, 13, for whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. I now believe that I have been born again, which would have been around mid-December 24. This can be reinforced now by the changes God has wrought in my life since being saved, such as eagerness to attend Sunday service, attending Wednesday prayer meetings, daily reading the Bible, daily prayers, attending Sunday school, taking up lessons to learn more of the Bible, and looking how best to live according to God's will. Now I could confidently say, thank you, Lord Jesus, for saving me from the lake of fire by God's grace and through faith in you, Lord, that I can now be sure of having eternal life with you in your kingdom. John 3.16, for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have eternal life. Today, I take a step of faith by taking part in baptism by immersion as a symbol of Christ's death, burial, and resurrection, and in obedience to his word. Matthew 28, 19. Go ye, therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for being my Lord and Savior and giving me your Holy Spirit.
