The Mystery of Gentiles Becoming Fellow-Heirs

96

Many of the conveniences we enjoy today hardly existed 100 years ago. Most of us would be completely lost in a world without TV, Internet, telephone, penicillin, long hot showers, electric irons, convenient stores and shopping malls. My mother reeled over modern technology. To her, the microwave and the digital clock were a curse, rather than a blessing.

As the Church emerged, the Jewish people felt the same way. They had great difficulty grasping the unimaginable blessings that God was now extending to the Gentiles. Through the fall of the Jews, came the riches to the Gentiles. However, after 2000 years of spiritual blessings, familiarity set in. Many in the Church fail to grasp the incredible riches we have in Christ. Many take their spiritual riches for granted, much like we take for granted the internet, cell phones and hot showers.

This message challenges us to remember with awe the wonderful riches we have in Christ.

For “. . . by revelation he (God) made known unto me the mystery . . . which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit; 6 that the Gentiles should be fellow-heirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel” – Eph. 3:3, 5-6
