The Power of Jesus to Give Sight to the Blind, Part 1
John 9:1-23

First, we are going to look at the miracle itself. Then, we are going to look at the various reactions to the miracle.

1. THE MIRACLE. The miracle is that Jesus gives sight to a blind man (verses 1-7).

The purpose is to display God's works (verses 1-5).

The procedure is anoint and wash (verses 6-7).

The point is that Jesus gives spiritual sight (see verse 39).

2. THE REACTIONS. The reactions prove that miracles do not change hearts (verses 8-23).

The man's neighbors have mixed opinions (verses 8-12).

The Pharisees denounce Jesus (verses 13-17).

The Jewish leaders launch an investigation (18-23).
