Faustian Bargain

What's a "Faustian Bargain", and how is that related to Jesus probing words, "What does it profit a person if he loses his own soul? Or what will a person give in exchange for his soul?' Why is the "Faustian Bargain" a bad one for this life, and an even worse one for the life to come. This is a searching evangelistic message calling all people to not listen to the Devil's whispers of what he will give you in exchange for your soul.
