Greater Peace

Jesus closed His upper room discourse with a glorious promise: "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. . . . Let not you hearts be troubled" (John 14:27). The peace that Jesus bequeathed to His own is not inward tranquility, but the realization that the sinners' long-standing enmity with God is resolved by Jesus' suffering God's wrath in their place. Of course, the result is inward tranquility. Do you know and possess His peace?
