The Sons of Shem

Shem, the middle brother's genealogy is given LAST in the form of a Table of Nations. Why last? Because from now on, having been given their genetic and historical context, the Sons of Shem are henceforth given pride of place in the remainder of the Old Testament. Any other descendants are met only in relation to the Sons of Shem, and more specifically the children of Eber, of which the most important is Abram:
