Remove the Sin from the Camp

Why is the church so powerless today? One reason is prayerlessness. But another reason is a failure to practice church discipline. The message of the text is that God will not stand with us and will not be with us anymore unless we remove the wicked on from our midst. If we fail to do that -- for all the excuses that are usually given -- our churches will be leavened. We will have no power from God to help us stand against our enemies. We will be a laughingstock and a byword.
