A. MY OBLIGATION IS TO LIVE FOR GOD

1. I am not to answer and satisfy the urgings of my fallen human nature

2. I am to order my life according to the desires of the Spirit

B. MY OBLIGATION IS TO BE KILLING SIN: Mortification

1. The misdeeds of the body

2. Stop doing what is wrong

3. Absolutely necessary

4. My responsibility

5. The help of God's Spirit

C. MY OBLIGATION IS TO TAKE SPECIFIC STEPS TO KILL SIN

1. I will keep my heart open to the Word of God

2. I will think deeply about the wrongness of my particular sin

3. I will long to be set free from my sin

4. I will determine whether a sin is rooted in my temperament

5. I will analyze the occasions when I find myself falling into sin

6. I will watch against the first appearance of sin

7. I will daily look in faith at Christ crucified
