Last Day's Description

2 Timothy 3:1-9 is often used to detail what living in the "Last Days" would be like. But every generation since Christ's first coming has had "lovers of self," "lovers of money," "lovers of pleasure," and "children who disobey their parents". Are these really good markers of the end times? If so, how?
